Dr. Amy Rogato PT, DPT, CCRT

Rehab Therapist and Owner of In Pawsuit

Hi, my name is Amy. I’ve loved animals since I was a young girl and I can remember having a “zoo” of pets from dogs to cats to hamsters. I always thought that I wanted to become a Veterinarian so that I could work with animals. I went to my undergraduate school at Millersville University in Millersville, PA. Here, I discovered my knack (and love) of anatomy and physiology. Because of this, I decided to pursue Physical Therapy School at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. After this, I traveled around the United States for a bit before settling in Florida (who doesn’t love the sun).

I was never completely satisfied treating people and I began to look at other options in which I could still use my PT skills. I found the Canine Rehabilitation Institute (CRI) and never looked back! I obtained my CCRT (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist) in 2017. Then, began working for a group of animal hospitals in the Tampa Bay Area as well as started as teaching assistant for CRI to help other physical therapists and veterinarians learn the skills to become CCRTs!

I loved working with animals, but I knew that there was a larger need in the community than I was able to serve. A few years after my certification, “In Pawsuit” was born. I discovered that there was such a need in the Tampa Bay Area to help dogs recover from the comfort of their home. Some dogs hate car rides, other hate going to the vet, some are too large or in pain and unable to get in/out of the car, and not to mention the pet parent’s busy schedule! I love meeting new clients and their pets in the home because it gives me the best idea of what exactly the dog really needs help with. And it’s MUCH more comfortable for the pup.

We all have our gifts and talents, and I believe mine to be helping dogs with neurologic issues to walk again and making senior dogs more comfortable. I also feel that I am gifted in meeting people where they are at and giving them hope. I am so honored to be able to share my gifts and talents with each and every pet and pet parent that I meet.

In my spare time, I enjoy going for walks with my 2 mini schnauzers, Faith and Luka, kayaking, gardening and trying new restaurants around the area.

I can’t wait to meet you and your pet 🙂
